05 · The problem

You are spending on marketing. Which part of it is working?

Most business owners cannot answer that question, and it is not their fault — analytics gets installed and never configured, so it reports pageviews nobody can act on. Before spending more, it is worth knowing where the customers you already have actually came from.

You probably recognise at least one of these

If two or more of these describe your situation, this is the right page.

  • Analytics is installed but nobody has ever opened it.
  • You cannot tell whether an enquiry came from Google, Instagram or a referral.
  • Reports show impressions and reach, never enquiries.
  • You are running ads and cannot say what a lead costs you.
  • Decisions about budget get made on instinct.

The fix

What we actually do about it

Measure before advising

GA4 configured around your actual conversion events — a form submitted, a call started, a WhatsApp chat opened — not just pageviews. Search Console verified. Every enquiry tagged with where it came from.

Audit the channels you already run

What is working, what is not, and what has never been tracked at all. Usually at least one channel turns out to be carrying the others, and at least one turns out to be costing money for nothing.

Write a plan you can hold us to

A 90-day roadmap: which channels, in what order, what to expect from each, and the leading indicators that tell you within weeks whether something is working rather than after a quarter.

Say when the answer is "do not spend"

If a channel is not worth it for your business we say so, including when it is a channel we could bill you for. That has cost us work and earned us referrals.

Deliverables

What you get

Everything below is written into your scope document before work starts, so there is no argument later about what was included.

Talk about this

  • GA4 and Google Search Console set up and verified in your own accounts
  • Conversion and event tracking configured to your real funnel
  • Enquiry source attribution, so every lead is traceable
  • A channel audit: what works, what does not, what was never tracked
  • A written 90-day growth roadmap with expected outcomes
  • Competitor positioning analysis
  • A monthly review call and reporting in plain language

Questions

Before you ask us.

I already have Google Analytics. Is that not enough?

Installed is not the same as configured. Out of the box GA4 reports pageviews and sessions, which tell you almost nothing about your business. The value comes from defining what counts as a conversion for you and tracking that — which is a setup job, not a plugin.

Do I need this if I am not running ads?

Arguably more. Without ad spend your growth depends entirely on organic channels, and knowing which of those is producing enquiries is what tells you where to put your limited time.

Will you manage my ads too?

We set up the measurement and the strategy, and we can manage campaigns as a separate engagement. But we will not recommend ad spend before the tracking is in place — spending without measurement is how budgets disappear.

What does the reporting look like?

A short monthly document in plain English: enquiries received, where they came from, what changed since last month, and what we are doing next. No dashboard you have to interpret yourself.
